I keep forgetting to post here. Very busy watering!

So I now have carrots, spring onions, potatoes, garlic, strawberries, dwarf and climbing French beans, cauliflowers and courgettes in various states of growth.

Hopefully the good weather will continue, as everything is shooting up, although a little rain would be appreciated.

I have managed to get hold of a copy of 'The Encyclopedia of Country Living' (9th Edition?) by Carla Emery which covers an outstanding number of subjects, based around producing your own food and preserving and cooking it, plus keeping animals, cooking on a woodburning stove, etc etc etc. Highly recommended. Currently thinking about trying to make 'fruit leathers'....

Snow, hail, etc etc

It's been pretty much continous snow/rain/hail here for the last few days. Of course, I went to the garden centre on Friday and bought two clematis and three strawberry plants which I'm now glad i didn't plant out. Potatoes and all the main vegetable seeds are ordered and due to turn up this week, so hopefully the weather will warm up a bit soon.

On the bright side, everything has survived so far and I have Giant Sequoia seeds chilling in the fridge.

Seeds on their way

I'm eagerly awaiting my seed orders so I can get going this weekend on this year's veg. A lot of lessons were learnt last year, so hopefully this year will be better. Plus I'm starting a lot earlier.

The tea plants are still alive and seem to be thriving, will post some pics when I get a chance.
